What is the legal situation for house trucks? Do you need to get any kind of official inspection or certification before taking your top-heavy, wobbly construction on the freeway? I’m sure that there must be some regulations about maximum axle loads, but is this enough?

I’m in two minds here. I don’t like over-intrusive officialdom and oppressive regulation, but minimum safety concerns need to be addressed.
