University of Michigan Joins the Tiny House Movement

UMtinyhome

It looks like a house and is double the size of Christopher Cerk’s original housing plan for his junior year at the University of Michigan, but to call Cerk’s house big would be stretching the truth.

Cerk is taking the money he would normally spend in Ann Arbor — where a studio apartment can run up to $750/month in rent — and putting it toward his tiny house. The house is about half the length of a school bus and the width of a car carrier trailer, but Cerk isn’t concerned. He’s planning to make the house his home for the next couple of years as he finishes up his computer science degree.
